Private Piano Instruction
Music for Little Mozarts: for younger beginners (ages 5-6)*
Alfred's Premier Piano Course: for beginning and intermediate students.
(beginning at age 7)*
Learning to play the piano is a skill that over 70% of adults wish they had. It is also a skill that usually develops over many years and hours of dedicated practice, which is why only a small percentage of adults are proficient in piano. Yet, learning to play the piano, even at a beginning or intermediate level, can have lasting effects on cognition and motor skill development. Studies have shown that the benefits of learning piano include:
Improving memory
Improving brain speed
Expanding aural skills
Sharpening concentration and focus
Improving reading and math literacy
Improving mental health
Decreasing stress and anxiety
Increasing positive emotions
Boosting confidence and self-esteem
Increasing hand strength and dexterity
Improving hand-eye coordination
Boosting HgH levels (which helps to regulate several bodily functions)
Elevating multitasking skills
When teaching piano, I consider these benefits along with the added benefit of becoming a skilled pianist and the self-fulfillment and opportunities that come along with that. I have taught for over 20 years and love sharing my experience and knowledge with children and adults alike. I also enjoy learning new ways of teaching concepts to students with varied learning styles.
My teaching style is positive and encouraging. I strive to find a balance between going with your individual flow and setting expectations for you to achieve. I use reward incentives for children to boost motivation, but strive to create a sense of intrinsic motivation fueled by steady progress and positive feedback.

Alfred's Premier Piano Express Course
(For older beginners and students who move at a quicker pace)
Alfred's Adult All-In-One Course for adult and teen beginners (ages 15 and older)*
*All ages are approximate and a curriculum will be chosen based on individual needs and goals. Supplemental music will be introduced early on and becomes more and more critical as the student progresses. I am also more than willing to teach from a curriculum that the student has already begun learning from. Alternatively, I can assess them and place them in the appropriate level of one of the above curriculums.
